Carmen I. Perez is capital partner of Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP Attorneys at Law Management Committee Member and Managing Partner of the El Paso Office.
Before becoming partner, Ms. Perez was a briefing attorney for the Honorable Justice Susan Larsen of the Texas Eighth District Court of Appeals. She worked for the Consumer Protection Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office and for the El Paso County Attorney’s Office prior to joining Linebarger Goggan. She was promoted to managing attorney of the El Paso office in 1997 and is responsible for managing the collection and litigation programs for over 40 taxing jurisdictions in El Paso, Hudspeth, and Culberson Counties.
Ms. Perez is a graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law and the University of Texas at El Paso. She served on the board of directors of the State Bar of Texas as a Minority Director from 2004 to 2007. In June 2005, she received a prestigious Presidential Citation for her service on the Board. She is active in the El Paso community and is a staunch supporter of her alma mater, the Lydia Patterson Institute in El Paso. The Lydia Patterson Institute is dedicated to providing bilingual/cross-cultural education to economically disadvantaged Hispanic children in Mexico and South El Paso. She was honored by the school in 1998 as a “Distinguished Alumna” in recognition of her outstanding work as an attorney.
