Owner, Dan Olivas Real Estate and Associates
Dan Olivas is the owner of Dan Olivas and Associates in El Paso and has been in real estate for nearly 30 years. He and his wife Patti have helped more than 5,000 people move in and out of the region.
Mr. Olivas was one of the founding member and past president of the civic group Community en Acción, a network of Hispanic community leaders working to improve El Paso by promoting education, arts, culture and economic development. The fledgling group has quickly gone to work. Perhaps most visibly, it took the lead in sponsoring the “Magnificent Mexico” exhibit, the largest ever of Mexican art at the El Paso Museum of Art.
A longtime community advocate, Mr. Olivas is also vice president of the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation board and immediate past chair of Avance-El Paso. He was awarded the Community Service Award in 2007 by RE/MAX of Texas for helping victims of the 2006 storm in El Paso and was named Realtor of the Year in 2004.
