The Nusenda Foundation, Kirk and Judy Robison, and MIMCO invest in CREEED’s mission of increasing educational attainment in El Paso
El Paso, TX –As CREEED embarks on its second decade of impact, the organization announced three new funding partners – The Nusenda Foundation, Kirk and Judy Robison, and MIMCO – whose investments will fuel innovative programs designed to boost educational success in El Paso.
Together, these funders have committed $27,500 to support initiatives that prepare local students for college and career success. The Nusenda Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Nusenda Credit Union, has invested $15,000 to support CREEED’s Excelencia Scholarships for Future Educators, Kirk and Judy Robison have invested $10,000 to support CREEED’s Educator Externships, and MIMCO rounds out the group with a $2,500 gift for general support of the organization.
“CREEED’s accomplishments from the past decade are powered by funders and partners who have invested in the future of El Paso’s students,” said Eddie Rodriguez, Executive Director of CREEED. “The addition of The Nusenda Foundation, Kirk and Judy Robison, and MIMCO to our growing list of funders demonstrates the confidence El Paso’s business community has in our vision and in our ability to have a sustained impact on education in the region in our next decade.”
CREEED is leveraging these investments to expand its impactful programs:
- Excelencia Scholarships for Future Educators: This scholarship program supports El Paso high school students pursuing degrees in teaching, fostering a new generation of educators for the region.
- Educator Externships: This innovative program, kicking off its third year in June, places teachers in one-week paid externships with local businesses. By immersing educators in real-world industries, the program equips them to better prepare students for in-demand careers.
Rodriguez also extended an invitation to the community. “We are always seeking innovative partners to host our educator externs. It’s a chance to directly shape the workforce of tomorrow while supporting the educators engaged in developing their student’s futures.”
CREEED is calling on businesses and organizations across the region to join this movement by hosting educator externs or supporting its mission in other impactful ways. Interested partners can contact CREEED’s Choose to Excel Director at ntellez@creeed.org.
