CREEED works with state and regional education leaders to build a stronger college-to-career pipeline and ensure more students are prepared for our region’s in-demand professions. We are creating programs and supporting efforts to remove barriers to college completion and increase postsecondary attainment for all students in the region.

COLLEGE COMPLETION INITIATIVES

F.A.S.T. RISING
SCHOLARSHIP

The F.A.S.T. Rising College Scholarship was created to encourage academic excellence and increase the number of students from rural school districts obtaining a post-secondary degree. It expands our Sylvia Hopp San Elizario College Scholarship to include students in Fabens, Anthony, San Elizario, and Tornillo independent school districts.

CREEED will award a one-time $2,500 scholarship annually to one high school senior in each of the four rural school districts. The scholarship is open to graduating seniors currently attending high school in Fabens, Anthony, San Elizario, or Tornillo independent school districts.

CREEED and our investors have committed a total of $10,000 annually to help ensure more students attending rural public high schools across our region have access to a college education.

EXCELENCIA SCHOLARSHIP FOR FUTURE EDUCATORS

The Excelencia Scholarship for Future Educators was established in 2024 to expand CREEED’s efforts to attract, support and develop future excellent educators in the El Paso region. CREEED will annually award a one-time $2,500 scholarship to eight local high school seniors planning to pursue a degree in education. By supporting the financial needs of future teachers, CREEED hopes to meaningfully contribute to the development of passionate and dedicated educators committed to excellence who will shape the future of our community.

The Excelencia Scholarship for Future Educators is part of CREEED’s ongoing commitment to college completion and career readiness for all El Paso County students. By reducing the barriers to college for students who want to become the best educators, we are positioning them for success in their careers and in our classrooms.

Career Readiness Initiatives

ASCEND

The Ascend program is led by CREEED in partnership with Anthony, Canutillo, Socorro, and Ysleta ISDs and El Paso Community College. Ascend strengthens the handoff of students transitioning from high school into postsecondary credentials of value and high-demand regional careers.

Through Ascend, partners collaborate to improve student outcomes and more fully realize the opportunities created through Texas House Bill 3 and House Bill 8. By strengthening the points where responsibility shifts from districts to EPCC, Ascend supports more students through college readiness, enrollment, persistence, and credential completion with the purpose of addressing workforce market requirements and ensuring students are ready for in-demand careers.
