Dear Partners, Supporters, and Friends,
As our students head back to school for the 2026-2027 school year, we wanted to share a helpful resource that CREEED provides parents and families to help understand their school’s performance.
CREEED’s El Paso School Finder is designed to help parents and guardians understand the educational opportunities across the El Paso region. School Finder tells you what percentage of students at each school are performing at the MEETS level on STAAR exams, meaning they are meeting their grade level standards.
School Finder also presents performance information to help understand how well students in your current school are meeting state standards compared to other schools, the region, and the state. Performance information is sourced from state databases, including the Texas Education Agency, and affirmed through our partnership with the Hunt Institute for Global Competitiveness.
As students enter a new school year, we encourage you to find out more about your child’s school at ElPasoSchoolFinder.com. If your school is performing below the MEETS level, use that information to ask school administrators how they intend to improve student performance. How can parents and families get involved? Even if most of the students at your school are performing at the MEETS level, you can ask school leadership where there is room for improvement and how they are working to maintain excellent results. You can find additional parent resources on El Paso School Finder or sign up for CREEED Parent Workshops.
CREEED remains committed to improving the educational ecosystem in El Paso through a variety of efforts, including enabling family members to learn about their child’s school and advocate for improvements. El Paso School Finder is a free and simple tool to help families understand school performance and support their students.
Please read on to learn more about what CREEED has coming up and what we have been pursuing in 2026!
With gratitude,
Eddie Rodriguez

The CREEED Excelencia Scholarship for Future Educators expands CREEED’s efforts to attract, support and develop future excellent educators in the El Paso region by annually awarding scholarships to eight local graduating high school seniors planning to pursue a degree in education. The quest for the best and brightest to lead our classrooms is a key objective of the Excelencia Scholarship program.

CREEED Educator Externship: Bringing the Workforce into Classrooms

In 2026, CREEED once again partnered with local businesses to host 16 educators through our Educator Externship Program, which matches teachers with local employers for a week-long immersive experience.
For four years, CREEED Educator Externs have worked alongside professionals in healthcare, utilities, finance, construction, journalism, public service, and more – gaining firsthand insight into career pathways available in the Borderplex. Participating educators create lesson plans incorporating what they learned from their externships into what they will teach in their classrooms this school year.
If you are a local business and want to host a teacher extern next summer, reach out to CREEED. Teacher Externships opportunities for the summer of 2027 are open to teachers starting in April 2027.
Check out one of our externs’ experiences at El Paso Electric here.
These are just some of CREEED’s efforts to elevate the educational attainment levels in El Paso. These efforts are pursued via programs and partnerships with our public schools. It is through the development of in-demand skills and knowledge that we will be able to cultivate an expanding and competitive regional economy. We invite you to visit the CREEED website for additional data, information, and resources. You can connect with us here.
